- A1C test

- Fasting blood sugar test
This test measures your blood sugar level after overnight fasting. A fasting blood sugar level of 99 mg/dL or lower is normal, 100 to 125 mg/dL means you have prediabetes, and 126 mg/dL or higher shows you have diabetes.
- Glucose tolerance test
This is a combined test. You have to first take the fasting blood sugar test and then drink any glucose liquid, and check the level of sugar change in the body. After 2 hours, a blood sugar level of 140 mg/dL or lower is considered normal, 140 to 199 mg/dL means you have prediabetes, and 200 mg/dL or higher shows you have diabetes.
- Random blood sugar test
As the name suggests, this test can be taken at any point in time regardless of what time you ate last. You don’t need to fast overnight for this test. A blood sugar level of 200 mg/dL or higher indicates diabetes.
- Tests For Gestational Diabetes
- Glucose screening test
For this test, you need to drink a glucose liquid and then after 1 hour get your blood sugar level tested. A blood sugar level of 140 mg/dL or lower is fine but for higher than this indicated diabetes. Your doctor will do some follow-up tests for confirmation.
- Glucose tolerance test
This same test that’s done for checking type 1, type 2, and prediabetes is conducted here too.
